Tales from the Sea 08
12"x12"
Transient moments on the beach
These images are created by the interaction of water and sand. As the waves ebb and flow they expose black volcanic sand beneath the natural white sand of the beach, etching charcoal-like drawings that last only a few seconds.
My eye waits patiently for the sea to produce a different image over and over again. The seas surge and move and tell us all the tales with foam fingers and lapping tides. No words will do. It is the sand and surf and foam that etch out the stories. The stories I put in pictures.
